  3. I love your new tradition! On Christmas eve we always go to church then we go home and open gifts. We go around in a circle each person taking a turn opening one present. It is wonderful to see each person opening their gift and enjoying what they received. Christmas morning there is always a special breakfast and we call family that we are too far away to visit.

  5. Hey Saskia!

    Fijne kerstdagen alvast.

  10. Dear Sweet Saskia,

What a lovely tradition! Your Christmas sounds so wonderful!

Ours is low key...we open gifts the night before...we sleep late on Christmas morning...I cook a big ole Texas breakfast...and prepare for our Christmas Dinner.

But one tradition that is mine and mine alone...after everyone has gone to bed on Christmas Eve...I sit...with candles glowing...and I remember...all the Christmas' past...my children...my love...my blessings...and I am grateful!

Blessings to you and your dear family this Christmas Season!

    xo

  11. Hi Saskia! One of our traditions is that we all get new pajamas on Christmas Eve (or just the kids if I run out of time). They love this and look forward to it every year. Hope all is well. You sound farther ahead of Christmas preparations than me. I'm slow this year!

  14. Dearest Saskia,

You are quite well organized I must say!
First let me tell you that I have not yet eaten my chocolate letter M. Today I took the first piece with my coffee. That is yummy!
This year's Christmas we kind of let it happen upon us. Both of us are too happy to be healthy and alive. We probably will talk in 2011 about how turbulent 2010 was for us...
    Have a great week!

  21. Let's go: our Christmas starts two weeks before the 24/25th. It starts with a meeting including all ladies who will prepare some deliciousness for THE Night. (Our meeting was held yesterday!!!). All right, then we decide who will cook the turkey, the pistachio rice, the mango, lettuce and crouton salad, the crispy chicken salad, the dessert(chocolate ice cream pie!!!!!!!!!!huuuummmm!!! Deliciosa!!!)...and some more special dishes!!
Second step is: the person who hosts the supper needs to prepare the house and the decor and so on!! The lights!! The Christmas Home needs to be pretty pretty gorgeous!!! ( this person is ME!!!;o)
Third step: Moms bring their children gifts, named, some days before THE NIGHT and I organize them under the x-mas tree!!!
All done, we gather and laugh and dance and sing x-mas songs and kids open their gifts and we have supper and that is all amazing, dear Friend Saskia!!! That is our tradition!!! Not many rules, just fun!
I wish you could tell me some of your special night too!!!
Sweet Friend, Mrs. Rain is not invited but shows up every single day around here! We hope she rests for some days and let us dry and happy!!!rsrsrs...we will spend x-mas here, as I told you, and maybe we are travelling to my husband's city for reveillon! His family lives far from here, in another state. We spend a whole day driving...but that is so nice there! They live near one of the biggest ecological reserves in Brasil. They live on a farm and Aila will enjoy the place!! She only visited them when she was 4 months old!!! They prefer to come to visit us.
Well, I guess I am writing a letter not a comment!!!rsrsrs...love you, dear!!!! Bela

  45. Hi Saskia,

Love your wrapping paper and the beautiful cups and all the traditions you have at your place.
We celebrate with all my family on the 18th because that is the day of my Mothers birthday.
Our Christmas is normally warm weather so we tend to have lighter food and eat outdoors on the balcony under the sun umbrella and relax and enjoy the time together with the family.

Hope that you are having a fun filled week

  60. Such a sweet post Saskia!

One of our traditions is that we sit around Christmas morning drinking french vanilla coffee, listening to Christmas music, eating Christmas oranges, and we open our gifts very slowly. One person at a time. And my son plays 'Santa' wearing a Santa hat and passing out gifts. We do not do it in a crazy hurry! :)
