Dearest Saskia,So you are in the area where we used to live in the fall of 1988 and winter 1989... They same Dutch country but that got misspelled over the centuries, meaning 'Deutsch' country. Actually German thus.Enjoy your stay here and it brings back fond memories of our time there!Lots of love,Mariette

Hi Saskia! You have certainly captured the innocence and charm of Pennsylvania ~ it's green, beauty, simplicity and people. It's one of the fondest memories I have of our family vacations.I can still see the face of the Amish girl ~ blonde hair, bright blue eyes ~ simple dress, looking back at us over a fence ~ she is the face of Lancaster, PAYou are in Staten Island! I am visiting Amanda tonight and go home tomorrow. Chris is still with Jason in Texas... I know you are cherishing all your family moments. Although it is challenging at times to travel with little ones, they do know how to bring quick smiles and giggles that will linger in your memory long after the vacation is over. They are some of my most treasured moments. The sweetest, simplest of days ~ and the big family adventures... they are ALL part of a beautiful tapestry ♡Enjoy your time together, Saskia! Many blessings and God bless you and your beautiful family!*Maria

Hi Saskia,Lovely pics!!!Have a lovely and sunny weekend.xoxo
Oh Saskia, Some of my previous blogs talk about how much my wife and I "LOVE" Lancaster, Pa. We have been there many times and always hate to leave and head home. I cannot get enough of the peaceful feeling I get from just being around the gentle Amish people. We spend lots of time in their farmers markets and driving through the countryside looking for a small shop behind a farm house selling great eats and crafts. I could go on and on for pages telling how much that place has impacted my life. Glad you had an opportunity to experience it.Odie
